Higgins Dragon
I know both were based on the same pencils, but for some reason, this seems like the work of the USSR's equivalent of Chuck Jones. :) Perhaps it's the artificial aging.

I simplified the hell out of Jonas' pencils, too. This was a pretty reasonably well-constructed drawing, with toony shapes beneath the detail; drop out the detail on Jonas and you end up somewhere pretty WBish!

I love this. The colors, graphic design of the missles, the text treatment (not a font?), the linework, the pseudo-real paper feel (though maybe more glossy?), the propaganda feel, and the character design. If I had my wish I'd love to see more of the posters that would have made up this promotional campaign. Very, very cool!

The text is, indeed, hand-drawn after looking at a few appropriate Russian posters. It's just some simple red lines, with Illustrator duplicating them for me in broad, black strokes.
